A kick-off meeting on the 3rd February 2017 officially started the PPL-PETROLERN 3-year contract titled “Hydraulic/Acid Fracturing and Matrix Acidizing Feasibility Study and Design”. The Naushahro Feroz tight carbonate field in the Sindh Platform is the first field to be reviewed, analyzed and modelled by Petrolern for selection of the optimum stimulation method. The study includes 1D and 3D geomechanical modeling for the field and wellbore stability study, packer placement, proppant/acid frac designs, matrix acidizing modeling for drilling a horizontal well and multi-stage fracturing for the first time in Pakistan.
